UPOLU – 16th April 2025, Hotel Millenia Conference Room SOGI

SAVAI’I – 25th April 2025, EFKS Hall LANO

The Ministry of Commerce Industry and Labour (MCIL) through its Apprenticeship Employment and Labour Market Division (AELM) coordinated two Jobseeker trainings in both Upolu and Savaii. These particular trainings are parts of the ministry’s annual activities which aims at enhancing employability and improve opportunities for all.

ACEO – AELM, Afioga Sa’u Taupisi Faamau, keynote speaker for both trainings, highlighted the significance of these trainings, noting that participants are privileged to engage in these sessions – particularly those who are actively looking for job. She also emphasized that getting employed is an individual contribution to the economic development of our nation.

Special acknowledgement to the Human Resource team of the Corporate Service Division (CSD) for their presentation on “How to find a job in the Public Service”, allowing the participants to have a clear insight of the Government Recruitment and Selection Process. The HR presentation emphasized the important steps to take when applying for a job in the Public Sector.

Jobseeker Service registration was utilized together with targeted invitations to 15 youth groups near the training venues encouraging their participation for both trainings. Ninety-one youth members (46 in Upolu & 45 in Savaii) participated the trainings and provided feedbacks on the importance of the training as guide for them in their job-hunting journey. Part of their feedback was sharing their experiences in finding the right job.

The ministry will continue to provide assistance for jobseekers through these imperative trainings every year.
