As a dedicated member of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) since 2005, the Government of Samoa, through the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Labour (MCIL), proudly marked the 2026 World Day for Safety and Health at Work. Building on a legacy of commitment initiated in 2006, this year’s national, annual observance highlights Samoa’s ongoing efforts to enhance occupational safety and health (OSH) standards.

The 2026 theme, “Let’s ensure a healthy psychosocial working environment,” placed a critical, contemporary focus on mental health in the workplace. The initiative highlights the necessity of managing work-related stress, burnout, depression, and social dynamics across all sectors, from small enterprises to large organizations.
